iFLY Tunnel Systems recently designed, supplied, and commissioned the world’s largest Indoor Skydiving Tunnel for CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi.
The wind tunnel is 32ft in diameter and has more than three times the flyable area of the next largest wind tunnel at 18ft in diameter, which iFLY Tunnel Systems commissioned in 2018.
The facility is scheduled to re-open to the public today, July 29th.
With a flyable height over 104 ft, this is a huge achievement and milestone for both iFLY Tunnel Systems and indoor skydiving. For the sport of indoor skydiving, entirely new styles of flying will be invented in this mega-tunnel that were not previously possible. Further, team training will be taken to a new level in the number of participants and freedom of movement.
A representative from the client stated, “CLYMB™ is the latest adrenalin-fuelled attraction on Yas Island. Our highly trained instructors are on hand to guide you through every step of the experience, from the initial safety briefing through to the actual flight itself. The tunnel boasts an incredible 16 fans, which is 4 times the number of a standard wind tunnel. This provides an incredibly exciting and unique opportunity for first time flyers, as well as professional skydivers and tunnel flyers to practice their technique and hone their skills in a smooth “wall to wall” linear airflow.”
