iFLY ANNOUNCES NEW MODULAR WIND TUNNELS

The leader in Indoor Skydiving launches “Generation X” and “Generation M” models designed with greater flexibility and lower entry level costs.

iFLY Tunnel Systems, the innovator of modern indoor skydiving, is pleased to announce two new modular tunnel designs with customer safety and return on investment as key attributes.

With increased demand for lower cost wind tunnel models from a variety of customers including family entertainment centers and leisure operators, the latest offerings apply iFLY’s patented wind tunnel technology, well known for industry leading quality and highest levels of safety, into newer designs that are more cost effective and easier to build and move.

The new designs come in two generations – the Generation M and Generation X.

Generation M

Generation M is iFLY’s lowest cost model with the most flexibility and comes in two packages: Open and Recirculating.

The Open version is designed for shorter term leases, pop-up attractions and showcases. It is easy to upgrade the Gen M Open to the Gen M Recirculating, which looks more like our traditional offerings.

The Gen M Recirculating delivers the same flight chamber, but with enclosed air, for a quieter wind tunnel appropriate for a more permanent attraction like an added experience at a Family Entertainment Center or a seasonal tourist town.  Indoor space can be minimized to attract experience-seeking customers in the COVID 19 world and beyond.

Generation X

With a tall, all-glass flight chamber visible from both the interior and exterior, Generation X is the ideal choice for mall pad sites, stadium parking lots, re-development of outdated mall retail anchors, or sites with high levels of pedestrians or cars passing.

The Gen X is also perfect where only shorter land leases are available, or an operator wishes to test the demand in a market. It can be rated as a temporary structure and approved as a “ride”. The Gen X delivers an enhanced flight experience while focusing on creating a “show” for both passing pedestrians and customers inside the facility.

Both the Generation X and the Generation M are fully modular solutions. Most of the assembly work is done offsite, with shipping container-sized pieces arriving at a customer’s location ready for assembly.  Total assembly time on site (with foundation and utilities in place) is anticipated to take between 4-8 weeks total.

“The newly launched models are a game changer for the industry.” Says Kevin Fiur, head of iFLY’s tunnel sales business. “Entrepreneurs and flying enthusiasts interested in owning a wind tunnel have options at unprecedented low costs without sacrificing the quality of the flight experience our customers enjoy.”

“Family Entertainment Center and leisure operators will love the new models and the flexibility at which they can be integrated within a variety of projects. Models with lower project costs expand not only the accessibility for operators, but vastly increase the number of available  markets to invest in.”

“Flying is a dream that is shared cross-culturally around the world; ownership in an iFLY wind tunnel is now within much greater reach. We are passionate in what we do and we look forward to growing our family of franchisees in Delivering the Dream of Flight.”

iFLY is the experiential entertainment company that invented modern indoor skydiving, opening its first facility in Orlando in 1998. To date, iFLY has built 89 wind tunnels worldwide with many more under construction. iFLY is vertically integrated; iFLY designs and builds wind tunnels, franchises and operates retail units and holds patents and trademarks covering 100+ countries.
